Lief Doerring is a senior international development expert, leader, and portfolio manager with more than 20 years of experience working in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific. He brings proven expertise in the design, implementation, and management of development donor-funded projects, including in micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development; market systems and value chain development; agriculture; livelihoods; competitiveness; access to finance; and business development services.

At DAI, leads efforts to maintain and build DAI’s position as a leading provider of technical assistance. In addition, he teaches a class on MSME development as an adjunct professor at the School for International Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University in New York.
