Global Reach
Since 1970, we have worked in more than 150 countries—delivering results across the spectrum of development contexts, from stable societies and high-growth economies to challenging environments racked by political or military conflict. At any one time we are likely to have active projects in 50 or more countries. This worldwide portfolio is complemented by a network of regional offices in Jordan, Mexico, Pakistan, Palestine, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
Amman
Nowhere in the world are jobs and responsive development more crucial for stability than in the greater Middle East. Building on DAI’s 20-year history in the country, DAI opened its Jordan office in February 2009 to address this demand, and the office quickly evolved into a regional leader in development collaboration.
Islamabad
Since 1982, DAI has helped Pakistani leaders connect with constituents and budget more wisely, assisted citizens and journalists to participate more effectively in civic affairs, and helped farmers grow more productive crops, among other results, and in 2009 we formalized our corporate presence in country with the launch of our Islamabad office.
Johannesburg
Founded in 1994 in Johannesburg, South Africa, as ECIAfrica, the Johannesburg office is DAI’s platform for catalyzing economic and social development in Southern Africa. The firm is a unique South African economic development consultancy providing technical expertise, world-class project management, and services that employ the latest in international best practice.
London
Our London-based team delivers results for bilateral and multilateral donors, governments, and private sector clients worldwide, including in difficult environments racked by insecurity and violence.
Mexico City
Development issues in Mexico have a direct impact on the United States. The countries’ shared 2,000-mile border features an enormous disparity of wealth from one side to the other, yet the countries also share deep economic and cultural links.
Ramallah
For nearly 25 years DAI has been meeting the development challenges of the West Bank and Gaza. In 2004 we formalized our corporate presence by opening a Palestinian-registered, Palestinian-run branch of DAI, in Ramallah.
Washington
From its earliest days as a start-up in 1970, DAI has maintained a presence in or near Washington, D.C. The three founders’ office was a tiny establishment in Georgetown. Today, our corporate office in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington, is home to some 450 employee owners.
